California’s Hobson’s Choice for U.S. Senate: Kamala Harris vs. Loretta Sanchez
Published on June 8th, 2016
California’s millions of moderate Democrats and its growing number of independents who support stabilized population and sensible, sustainable immigration are disappointed in their United States Senate November choices.
On Tuesday, California primary voters chose two same-party candidates, one of whom will replace retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer. Democrats Kamala Harris, California’s Attorney General, and U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez are long-time open borders and by extension therefore anti-environment candidates.

On immigration, sanctuary cities and illegal immigrant entitlements, Harris is a disaster whose advocacy is staggering. Harris’ long list of lowlights include convening a roundtable of immigration lawyers to provide legal services for unaccompanied Central American minors who surged the border, repudiating the federal appeals court which upheld the Texas court’s injunction on President Obama’s executive action amnesty for five million aliens, promoting Gov. Jerry Brown’s Trust Act and telling farm workers that “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.” Harris’ critics call her “the Queen of sanctuary cities” for her blatant disregard of federal immigration law that led to many avoidable deaths, the most prominent of which is Kate Steinle’s.
For her part, Sanchez demanded a House vote on the notorious Senate Gang of Eight bill, and argued on the floor that “our unjust and broken immigration system has forced millions of families into the shadows” (those nonexistent “shadows,” as illegal aliens continue living, working and protesting in plain sight throughout the country). Watch Sanchez here. During her 20-year congressional career, Sanchez has compiled an F- grade on refugee and asylum fraud, alien entitlements and amnesty incentives. Interestingly, the outgoing Boxer has a D grade which stacks up as better than the records of either Harris, the odds-on favorite, or Sanchez.
In the weeks between now and November, Californians should remain pro-active on important state legislation written to offer illegal immigrants more entitlements. The latest is SB-10 that would take advantage of a loophole in Obamacare to allow illegal immigrants to pay for health care. The Legislative Analyst’s Office predicts that if SB-10 becomes law, the costs could reach into “the millions.”
