Finally! Apprehended 24 Times by Border Patrol, Criminal Alien Charged, Jailed

On April 19, the Immigration and Border Security subcommittee held a hearing on “The Real Victims of a Reckless and Lawless Immigration Policy: Families and Survivors Speak Out on the Real Cost of This Administration’s Policies.”

Joshua Wilkerson: Another innocent life ended by a criminal alien.

Two mothers, Michelle Root and Laura Wilkerson, told Subcommittee chair Trey Gowdy the tragic stories of how their children Sarah and Joshua were brutally killed by illegal aliens. On January 31, Edward Mejia, a drunk driver, killed Sarah, a recent college graduate who had earned a 4.0 grade point average. Mejia spent four days in jail, and after paying a $5,000 bond, fled. His whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Root testified that Sarah’s funeral costs were greater than $5,000.

Wilkerson told the legislators the horrifying details of Joshua’s murder at Hermilo Martinez’s hands. Martinez’s family may still be accepting government welfare, suspects Wilkerson. Last year, CAPS reported on Wilkerson’s Senate testimony.

Also testifying was Frederick County, Maryland, Sheriff Charles Jenkins who said that criminal alien gangs have infiltrated American communities and that, because of open borders, sanctuary cities and unenforced immigration laws, “Every single day, more Americans are becoming victims of senseless crimes, being injured and killed by criminal aliens.”

Some immigration cases are so mindboggling in their depravity and defiant in their violation of immigration law that they strain comprehension. One example: Luis Manzanares-Reyes who sexually assaulted a ten-year-old girl. Another: Efrain Delgado-Rosales, apprehended 24 times by Border Patrol agents before finally being charged with, and jailed for, smuggling.

Immigration abuses have spun out of control. The more Americans want the border and the interior secured, and the louder the pleas for federal intervention, the more obstinate Obama becomes in defense of his lawless policies.
