As might be expected, overpopulated California has received the most migrants since 2010, 538,000. During 2014 alone, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants came to the United States, a 40 percent average annual increase since President Obama took office.
|California is the favored destination
for new immigrants.
In the first six months of 2015, total immigrant arrivals shot up to 914,000, and put the year’s projected total at nearly 2 million immigrants. Since 1965, when the Immigration and Nationality Act became law, the number of foreign nationals who have settled in the U.S has reached 43 million. In 2013, nearly 300,000 anchor babies were born, many of them in California, and in the state’s numerous birth tourism hotels.
California already has the largest illegal alien population of any state, 2.5 million. The additional 538,000 and their children will further harm the environment, worsen traffic, further overcrowd schools and hospitals, exacerbate urban sprawl, increase air pollution and deepen the state’s massive debt.
The huge population increases do, however, please President Obama who rarely hangs out at the same places immigrants do, e.g. on Martha’s Vineyard or surfing at Hawaiian beach resorts. At a 2015 naturalization ceremony, Obama told the crowd that “[W]e can never say it often or loudly enough: Immigrants and refugees revitalize and renew America.” Not content to praise immigrants, Obama also leveled insults at Americans when he said that citizens too often fall short of their ideals, have “succumbed to fear” and betrayed “our deepest values.” Obama not so coyly was referring to Americans who want to see a pause in unsustainable immigration.
Although no immigration legislation will pass until the next administration, please go to the CAPS Action Alert page here to register your support for HR 140/S 45 that would help end the current birthright citizenship misinterpretation which is a magnet for illegal aliens and directly contributes to overpopulation.
