While Americans were reflecting on America’s fallen heroes this past Memorial Day Weekend, thousands of illegal immigrants crossed the border into the United States.
According to a report from Fox News, over 4,000 illegal immigrants crossed the border in the Rio Grande Valley sector alone.
Besides the number of illegal aliens, plenty of other nefarious activities were going on at the southern border this past weekend.
Another report from the Daily Caller reposted information from a tweet sent out by Customs and Border Protection Chief Raul Ortiz.
In the tweet, Ortiz stated that 43 pounds of narcotics including cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl were seized at the border.
His tweet also stated that nine large groups totaling 1,377 migrants were apprehended.
Among those apprehended, four had warrants out for their arrest, two were sex offenders, and one had a second degree murder conviction.
Keep in mind, things like this happen every single weekend along the southern border.
With the border crisis only set to get worse this summer during the warmer months, we can’t imagine who and what else will slip past through the cracks.
