Illegal Aliens Let In Under Biden Cost Taxpayers Over $20B

Published on September 14th, 2022

A new analysis indicates that illegal aliens let in during President Biden’s first term have cost taxpayers $20.4 billion.

The new analysis comes from our friends over at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), and shows the heavy financial burden taxpayers incur as a result of illegal immigration. FAIR estimated in their analysis that this results in a $9,232 burden per taxpayer.

According to FAIR, it’s estimated we already spend $140 billion on benefits for illegal aliens. FAIR breaks down the root cause, and it has everything to do with Biden’s immigration policies:

“The Biden administration has willingly released approximately 1.3 million illegal aliens into the country’s interior after removals and Title 42 expulsions are accounted for. Add to this figure approximately 1 million “gotaways” according to FAIR’s sources within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and it can be safely estimated that approximately 2.3 million illegal aliens successfully entered the country’s interior after President Biden took office.”

Back in May, we blogged about another FAIR study which showed the illegal immigration population under Biden had increased by over 1 million. In another blog posted back in July, we wrote about how the number of illegal aliens in the USA could increase by over 7.5 million after just one term of Biden.

All of this comes in the midst of the worst border crisis in our nation’s history with hundreds of thousands of border encounters every month.

In FAIR’s statement on the analysis, they mentioned some of the things that could be funded with this type of budget. A few examples cited were helping homeless veterans, groceries for needy families, or building the much awaited border wall.

Or perhaps we could give better funding to border enforcement officers, who were recently shortchanged in the FY 2023 budget. It seems like that would solve two problems at once.

It also comes on the back of sky high inflation and a tumultuous economic situation. According to a recent article published in the Associated Press, inflation rose .1% in August and was up 8.3% from a year ago.

This type of economic situation really affects the middle class as they struggle to buy the essentials for everyday life. It’s an insult to the American taxpayer that the government stiffs them with the bill for illegal aliens while they scrape by to afford the basics like food and rent.

It seems like the only thing our government is willing to increase funding for these days are illegal immigrants.

In a situation like this, the American taxpayers shouldn’t be spending billions of dollars to fund services for non-citizens. Especially when this situation is easily rectifiable. All we have to do is fund and empower border enforcement to do their jobs, and the border crisis and the subsequent burden on the taxpayer ends.
