FBI: 7,712 Terrorism ‘Encounters’ Along Southwest Border

Two things have been constants during President Obama’s eight years in the White House: border security’s steady erosion, and a consistent refusal to enforce even the most fundamental immigration laws.

In 2011, Obama traveled to El Paso, Texas, and declared that the border had never been more secure. He went further, and mocked his critics who he claimed would only be content if he authorized the construction of “a moat” along the Southwestern border with Mexico.

Obama may be amused by his callous indifference to border security, but most Americans aren’t, especially in light of recently revealed FBI data which showed that 7,712 terrorist encounters occurred within the U.S. during 2015. Breitbart Texas obtained leaked, sensitive FBI documents indicating that most incidents took place along the exact same border that Obama insists is well-guarded. Since the information comes from the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center, and is labeled “Unclassified/Law Enforcement Sensitive,” its authenticity is indisputable. Most at risk are California, Arizona and Texas.

The methods of entry the aliens use include walking up to ports-of-entry, and asking for asylum or Sinaloa cartel members being smuggled into the U.S. The Breitbart report indicated that the majority of Arizona’s cases involved known or suspected Islamic terrorists, both Sunni and Shi’a. The FBI tallied 89 encounters with Sunni Muslims, 56 with Shi’a Muslims and 70 others with what the FBI calls “Other International Terrorist Groups or Affiliates.”

In many cases, Mexican cartels work with terrorists to smuggle them across the border and into the U.S. More leaked information, this time from the Department of Homeland Security to Judicial Watch, revealed that jihadists who travel back and forth through the porous southern border include Kuwaiti Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, an ISIS operative who lives in Chihuahua near El Paso. Khabir, who has lived in Mexico for more than a year, trained hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen. Currently, Khabir oversees thousands of combat-ready Syrians and Yemenis in an ISIS camp on the Mexico-U.S. border region near Ciudad Juárez. The boastful Khabir told an Italian newspaper that because of the wide open border, he “could get in with a handful of men, and kill thousands of people in Texas or in Arizona in the space of a few hours.”

Why Obama is so disdainful of U.S. security is hard to fathom. Not only does he insist on forcing diligent, dedicated border patrol agents to violate their oath of office, and catch and release dangerous aliens into the general population, he’s ramping up his refugee resettlement vision, with a set goal of 110,000 during fiscal year 2017 effective October 1. Many will come from terrorist-sponsoring Syria and Iraq. Moreover, the 10,000 Syrians and Iraqis Obama pledged to admit during FY 2016 morphed into 12,000 virtually overnight and came in under the public’s radar.

Mexico’s top diplomat, Foreign Affairs Secretary Claudia Ruiz, quoted in an Italian newspaper, said she doesn’t understand why the Obama administration and the complicit U.S. media are “culpably neglecting this phenomenon [terrorists entering at will],” and added that “this new wave of fundamentalism could have nasty surprises in store for the U.S.”

True security experts – that is, those outside the Obama administration – agree with Ruiz that “nasty surprises” are inevitable, and hope that the unavoidable death and destruction is kept at a minimum.
