Obama Plotting Sovereignty-Destroying Administrative Amnesty

Late last week, a leak from the White House revealed that President Obama is scheming to move quickly on an executive order amnesty that would destroy the historic American nation.

Obama’s action would circumvent Congress, which would certainly block such an attempt, and essentially pardon 11 million illegal immigrants except convicted murderers and rapists. About 800,000 of those to be forgiven are convicted felons, even though the administration disingenuously claims that such aliens represent priority cases.

Unfortunately, Obama has a history of unconstitutional, congressionally-sidestepped actions.  Informed estimates put his unauthorized Obamacare changes at 40. Acting on immigration and also without congressional approval, Obama has deferred from deportation so-called childhood arrivals, parents of citizen children, and illegal immigrant relatives of military personal. As a result of the White House’s complete lack of immigration law enforcement, illegal immigrants, confident that they won’t be deported, are pouring across the southern border or, despite the risk, sending their infant children ahead with drug smugglers or coyotes. 

The current Obama conspiracy is far more wide-sweeping. At the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Democratic leadership’s urging, Obama’s unilateral reprieve would come in two stages. First, the existing deportation exemptions—DACA, those with family or military ties—would be expanded to include all aliens except the aforementioned capital criminals. Also included in Obama’s broad clemency would be aliens who have been deported once, but feloniously returned a second time, as well as those who have skipped out on their court-ordered mandate to appear for a deportation review. 

From 1996 to 2012, only 268,000 of the 1.1 million illegal aliens who were released from detention reappeared in court for their deportation cases. Very few of these fugitives were re-arrested. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported its highest re-arrest numbers in 2008, when agents apprehended just 6 percent of a fugitive population of 592,000.

Since then, the Obama administration has abandoned its re-arrest effort and the fugitive alien population has increased 51 percent to almost 842,000. The Government Accountability Office admitted that “aliens have nothing to lose by failing to appear for hearings and, in effect, ignoring the deportation process.” Last year, 68,000 convicted criminal aliens were released back into the general public.

During Obama’s second stage, which would occur shortly after the first, pardoned illegal immigrants would receive work and social security cards along with the associated benefits. The bottom line is if Obama gets his way, only hardened criminals, assuming Immigration and Customs Enforcement can find them, would be deported. 

Think of the consequences. Not only would border crossings continue to soar annually, but millions among the record 62 million U.S. visitors could and would overstay their visas without worrying about being sent home. Visit Disneyland and stay in America forever!

The complete shredding of immigration laws is playing out against the backdrop of Senate Major Leader Harry Reid’s comical insistence that, regarding Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s confrontation with the Bureau of Land Management, that the U.S. is “a nation of laws.” Reid, of course, is not only completely on board with Obama breaking every immigration law on the books, he’s lobbying intensely for more of the same.

Should Obama act, and only a very real impeachment threat may hold him back, then U.S. workers would be crushed, schools, hospitals overwhelmed and, most important, American sovereignty would end.
