In recent years, the White House, various Wall Street billionaires, countless lobbyists and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have worked to pass legislation that would double annual immigration, doubling the number of new people each year who need jobs. According to the Sunlight Foundation, the groups have spent 1.5 billion dollars to hire 3,136 lobbyists at a time when millions of Americans can’t find jobs, pay mortgages or put food on the table.
