The Obama administration released two fliers Thursday in a variety of different languages aimed at raising awareness of President Obama’s executive amnesty.
The fliers, issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, are intended to educate the public about the executive actions and are available in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese. USCIS added that the fliers will be available in Chinese “soon.”
The first flier warns against immigration scams:
“Beware of anyone who offers to help you submit an application or request at this time based on the President’s announcement—it may be an immigration scam,” it reads.
The second flier details eligibility requirements for the administration’s two forms of unilateral amnesty the expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and the new Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA).
USCIS issued the stakeholder fliers just days before House Republicans are expected to target the executive actions in an upcoming Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill.
“The president’s unilateral actions were an affront to the rule of law and our system of government,” House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said Thursday. “The American people don’t support it as their representatives cannot let it stand.”
