Incentivizing Illegal Immigration

Published on April 8th, 2013

If you build it, they will come” were words from A Field of Dreams that were whispered into farmer Ray Kinsella's ear. Inspired, Kinsella, the character Kevin Costner played, built a baseball diamond in the middle of his farm.

The “Gang of Eight”routinely issues progress reports that are like a modern day siren song which promise that the federal government is about to pass a sweeping amnesty program for at least 11 million illegal aliens. No matter what the Gang of Eight claims, the reality is that in order to qualify for amnesty, a foreign national will only have to run across America's borders and irrespective of the truth, fill out applications that indicate he meets whatever requirements are stipulated in the pending legislation.

In order to work, man's laws, unlike the laws of nature, must be enforceable and ultimately enforced. USCIS can't state with certainty that the millions of applications that would be filed by aliens hoping to be granted amnesty are truthful. A background check couldn't be performed adequately enough to substantiate the information submitted on the applications. If an alien provides a false name and has never been fingerprinted in the United States, the odds are good that even aliens with criminal histories in their home countries will beat the system.

USCIS and ICE lack the resources to conduct field investigations in conjunction with a minimum 11 million applications.

The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act was supposed to provide permanent legal residency for about one million illegal aliens. However, when the dust settled, more than 3.5 million illegal immigrants were rewarded with lawful status. The same would happen if the 2013 immigration bill passes. Now that rumors of a new amnesty are in the air, aspiring aliens are coming!

On April 1, 2013 Townhall.com posted an article titled Illegal Border Crossings Double, Border Becomes Less Secure as Beltway Gets Close to Deal on Immigration Reform

These would-be aliens are seeking admission to the “amnesty ball park” that the Gang of Eight and the Obama administration have promised to build.

While some politicians claim that the only metric to consider prior to comprehensive immigration reform is southern border security, ignore the many ways that the current immigration system fails on it two primary goals of protecting innocent lives and protecting American workers' jobs.

The administration may claim that the border is secure, but those whose job it is to keep the border secure know differently. Promising millions of aliens amnesty without a meaningful background check provides an irresistible incentive for aspiring illegal aliens worldwide

The Gang of Eight is digging a deep hole for United States' citizens of every ethnicity who want to fulfill their own American dreams.
