Three Things for the Earth Day To-Do List
Published on April 20th, 2013
Here’s my recommended list for Earth Day … and beyond. It’s just three things, but they’re three important ones:
(1) Watch the documentary, “Mother: Caring for 7 Billion,” streaming FREE from the film’s Website through the end of May. This is the never-before seen Director’s Cut. In a highly compassionate manner, the film looks at the connection between sustainability and the ever-growing human population.
(2) Watch “Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth.” This documentary connects the dots on population, sustainability and our obsession with perpetual growth – in all forms. Find it here. If you’re in the Colorado Springs area, catch a screening April 23 at the Penrose Public Library.
(3) Contact your U.S. representative, senators and President Obama. Tell them it’s all about the math. Tell them adding millions of people to the country is not a recipe for a sustainable future. Remind them of the roots of Earth Day when people understood that every environmental problem is a population problem. Tell them “No” on the proposed amnesty for millions who are in the country illegally.
