New Ad Campaign Asks Trump to Withhold Funds to Sanctuary Cities

A new ad campaign has been launched in California, asking President Trump to withhold federal funds from sanctuary cities.

Don Rosenberg’s son was struck and killed in San Francisco in 2010 by a motorist who had entered the country illegally.  Rosenberg later found out that Roberto Galo had been stopped by police just months earlier driving without a license or insurance, going the wrong way down a one-way street. But authorities released him and charges were dropped.

Since then, Rosenberg has become a passionate opponent of sanctuary polices. Recently, he signed on to be the spokesperson for the ad campaign produced by the Californians for Population Stabilization.  The ads were seen on San Francisco TV stations last week.

“It got a very good response. I ended up doing quite a few interviews on TV stations up there.”

But Rosenberg fears it’s a drop in the bucket in a media landscape that overwhelmingly supports protecting illegal aliens from being deported.

“We’re probably outspent a billion to one – of course (there’s) all the free press that the illegal alien advocates get. So this is just an attempt to fight back a little.”

He says advocates who supported and won driver licenses for illegals are blind to the simple math that makes allowing illegal immigration a terrible deal for the state.

“They’ll talk about the $2.4 billion a year that they pay in taxes and fees and registration and whatever, but they don’t talk about the $30 billion a year – almost 20 percent of the California budget –  that’s spent educating their children, police enforcement and all the other things … it doesn’t mean that they’re bad people. It just means that everything that’s said about them that’s supposed to be so positive – is not.”

He says the ad will start running in Los Angeles this week.

Don Rosenberg was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
