Overpopulation Affects Air Quality

Join Our Fight To Improve Air Quality, Environment

CAPS has launched a radio advertising campaign blaming immigration-driven population growth for California’s air pollution problems.  The campaign was launched this week in the San Bernardino area due to the severity of pollution there.
The 60-second commercial charges that San Bernardino and Riverside Counties have the worst air in the nation, and connects the poor air quality to the extremely high childhood asthma incidence in this region.  To prove our point, we note that "in San Bernardino County, the cancer risk just from breathing is 1,400 times the EPA’s standard."

However, the underlying theme of the campaign is that California’s massive population growth, driven 100 percent by immigration and births to immigrants for at least the last 10 years, is the cause of the degradation of California’s environment. That growth needs to be stopped.
Dr. Diana Hull, CAPS President, chides California politicians for not addressing the real problem of pollution and other environmental problems.  "It’s ludicrous the way our elected officials keep blaming cars for air pollution.  People drive the cars that pollute California’s air.  But we have too many cars because we have too many people."

Hull also accuses California politicians of opting for political correctness over admitting the real problem.  "Any legitimate demographer will tell you that since at least 1994, all of California’s population growth has been from immigration and children of immigrants.  That’s why we’re crowded. That’s why our environment continues to deteriorate."

The commercial ends by asking Californians to join and support our fight so "we can all breathe a little easier."
