Presidential Hopeful Promises to End Birthright Citizenship

In the second Republican presidential debate, GOP hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy shared his plan to end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants.

Ramaswamy’s statement came under the backdrop of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

“I favor ending birthright citizenship for the kids of illegal immigrants in this country.”

Vivek then went on to stress that immigrants in the United States are subject to our laws as a condition of their immigration status, “I’ve actually read the 14th Amendment, what is says is that all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the laws and jurisdiction thereof are citizens.”
