Staggering Number of Illegal Aliens Sneak Into USA

Published on July 27th, 2022

Over half a million illegal aliens have snuck past border security and entered the United States since FY 2022 began on October 1st.

A report from Fox News breaks down the numbers.

That number has already eclipsed the 389,155 known gotaways that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas previously testified there were in all of FY’21.

There has been an average of over 55,000 known gotaways per month in FY’22, according to the DHS sources.

There have been approximately 900,000 known gotaways since the beginning of FY’21, per the sources, which is equivalent to a population bigger than the city of San Francisco sneaking across the border without apprehension.

All of this comes on the heels of several months where hundreds of thousands of illegal encounters have been recorded at the southern border.

As we blogged about, a record 239K illegal border encounters were recorded in May.

There were over 200K illegal border encounters in June, and FY 2022 has already broken a record with 1,746,119 encounters at the southern border.

Sadly, the Biden administration doesn’t seem to be taking this situation seriously.

As we recently wrote about, border protection was shortchanged in the 2023 FY budget according to a report from our friends over at the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

The Daily Mail, building upon a report from Axios, revealed the Biden administration also plans to give out ID cards to illegal aliens which will make it easier for them to acquire government aid.

The Biden administration plans to launch an initiative giving temporary I.D. cards to migrants awaiting decisions on their immigration proceedings so they can more easily access services and government benefits.

Illegal immigrants and asylum-seeking migrants awaiting final decisions on their cases often have difficulty getting housing, healthcare and transportation without identification cards.

We’re in the midst of the worst border crisis in the history of this country.

Shortchanging border patrol is like cutting water lines being used to fight a wildfire.

Giving out I.D. cards so illegal aliens can acquire more government aid is like throwing gasoline on that wildfire.

The border crisis won’t end until government officials get serious about stopping illegal immigration, instead of incentivizing it.
