Report Estimates Over 2 Million Illegal Aliens Released Under Biden

Published on October 13th, 2022

Our friends over at the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) published an expansive new report late last month about illegal immigration under President Joe Biden.

The border crisis is not getting better, and as the CIS report mentions, under President Biden the issue of illegal immigration has become much worse.

Here’s a few of the main points from the CIS report:

  • There have been nearly 2 million apprehensions of illegal aliens in FY 2022 at just the southern border. Title 42 was used to expel 49% of these individuals apprehended.
  • The report estimates 1.35 million illegal aliens have been released into the USA under Biden.
  • The 1.35 million number does not count got-aways. There were 389K got-aways in FY 2021, and a half a million in FY 2022.

The CIS report also stated these are conservative estimates, and that the number of illegal aliens in the USA is likely higher than what they have projected:

Using a conservative estimate, the total number of illegal migrants who have exploited Biden’s border policies to live and work in the United States is now nearing 2.2 million — roughly the populations of Boston, Detroit, and San Francisco combined. If wealthy cities like D.C., New York, and Chicago are struggling to deal with the 11,000 released migrants border governors have sent them in recent weeks, imagine what will happen when the rest of us get our fair share.”

We strongly encourage you to read the full report, as it adeptly breaks down the immigration crisis piece by piece.

A similar analysis was done by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) this past May. In our blog on that report, we wrote that under Biden’s first year in office there was a one million person increase in the illegal immigrant population.

Another report we blogged about in July 2021 from Princeton Policy Advisors indicated that after one term of Biden, we could see a 7.5 million person increase in the population of illegal aliens.

We’ve extensively chronicled the border crisis on this blog, and every month there’s hundreds of thousands of illegal encounters at our southern border.

These numbers show that long term we’re allowing entire cities worth of individuals to illegally enter and reside in our country. That puts a strain on the taxpayer and on the precious resources that are already being stretched thin in this country.

For a state like California that’s a haven for illegal aliens, it also doesn’t help with the problem of overpopulation.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on the border crisis, because if these numbers are any indication it’s not ending anytime soon.
